Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (USCG): With three theses students dedicated to working on our collaborative studies, Semilla Nueva has forged a strong partnership with Guatemala’s leading university, USCG.

Alianza Mundial (known as Ayuda in Guatemala) provides the resources necessary so that the most disadvantaged populations can strengthen their capacities and create opportunities to improve living conditions. Alianza Mundial/Ayuda has established operations in 93 communities in Guatemala and Semilla Nueva will work in partnership with three of those communities in 2010. Asociación para el Desarrollo Sostenible de la Mancomunidad Huista, (ADSOSMHU): This campesino organization, composed of more than 1,500 families, sponsors 40 community development organizations, and serves the communities of six municipalities. ADSMHO is dedicated to holistic development, including education, health agriculture, water and more. Our partnership with ADSMHU is the basis for our Semilla Criollo project.

Zamorano University: One of Latin America’s leading agricultural institutes. Zamorano University’s programs provide a roadmap for successfully navigating in agribusiness value chains, services, support organizations and environmental and social environments. Gota Verde: This non-governmental organization is a partnership between the Dutch NGO Social Trade Organization and the Honduran agricultural NGO FUNDER. Together, they are building a sustainable biomatrix program (utilizing biofuels and their associated ‘by products’) to serve marginalized farmers across Central America while also fostering petroleum

Nueva Alianza EcoVillage: Nueva Alianza (“New Alliance”) is an ecovillage striving to sustainably maintain its livelihood through agriculture and ecotourism. Nueva Alianza has initiated many sustainable/organic projects that have contributed to their financial independence and improved the health, education, and living conditions within the community. Honduras National Agriculture University (UNAH): An agricultural university which works to research and provide vocational training for subjects that will serve the ultimate aim of economic, social and environmental development. Through a close partnership with Gota Verde, Semilla Nueva has developed a strong relationship with UNAH.
