Alternative Gifts

This holiday season give the gift of change and enable Guatemalan families and communities to gain food security. With an alternative gift, you can help Semilla Nueva empower farmers and spur community-wide change.

When making your payment please Input the needed contact information for the alternative gift recipient(s). Please also note the date that you would like your recipient(s) to receive the gift. Semilla Nueva will receive your order and send your gift recipients a beautiful Semilla Nueva card explaining the gift that has been made in their name. The gift package will also include informational material about Semilla Nueva.

		$10 Provides a farmer with green manure seed to rebuild soil health, reduce agrochemical reliance and spur local economy.
		$25 Helps a farmer plant 100 fertilizer producing agroforestry trees, to prevent soil erosion, offer wildlife habitat, and decrease agricultural chemical needs.
		$40 Assists the formation of a women's nutritional group for a month, promoting high nutrition recipes based in Semilla Nueva introduced crops, like pigeonpea.
		$100 Trains a community leader for six months, providing skills and teaching materials to organize a community sustainable agriculture program
		$250 Provides a community with a conference to help farmers adopt conservation tillage and sustainable agriculture techniques.
